Farm-Fresh Produce

Fresh Produce, tomatoes, onions, blueberries, garlic and more
Tomatoes, Candy Onions, Blueberries and Garlic, grown locally using Organic Methods.

One of the best benefits of belonging to a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program is that you get farm-fresh produce that is grown locally. The community supports the local farm by paying a fee ahead of time which helps us plan the upcoming growing year and plan our expenses accordingly. The trade-off is getting a box/bag of fresh, locally grown, seasonal produce for several weeks each year.

The produce you get from your CSA membership will be better tasting than what you get from the local grocery store because the grocery store trucks in their produce from further away. This ultimately means the produce is picked before it reaches its peak flavor so that it will not arrive at the grocery store spoiled. A CSA member does not need to worry about that as the produce is picked at its peak of flavor and nutrition. In addition, because we grow our produce here in Fairfield and Liberty Township in Ohio, you do not have to worry about it traveling a huge distance to your table.

While we do not have organic certification, we do practice organic growing practices. We use natural methods of enriching the soil, and fighting the weeds and pests that try to devour our great produce before our CSA members can. We amend the soil with compost, natural fertilizers, and compost teas. We use interplanting, and row covers, and release beneficial insects. Our farm utilizes high tunnels, greenhouses, and outdoor growing spaces to provide for our community year-round. We will also partner with other local farms that specialize in crops we do not have room to grow to allow our CSA customers the widest variety of locally grown produce available.

Our CSA members agree to take the risk with us of crop failure due to weather, pest damage or circumstances beyond our control. We will do our best to provide high quality weekly produce to our members but understand that sometimes crops fail. That is why we grow so many crops.
